Full text of every article: https://help.meisa.io/llms-full.txt ## Getting started Set up your account, your first product and the essentials. - [What is Meisa and how does it work?](https://help.meisa.io/articles/what-is-meisa): Meisa is the email stack for SaaS founders. You write and automate your emails in Meisa, and they go out through your own provider, like Amazon SES. - [Create your Meisa account and start your trial](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-your-meisa-account): Sign in at meisa.io with Google or an emailed 6-digit code, add your name and product, then pick a plan and add a card to start the 7-day free trial. - [Add a product (workspace) for each app you send from](https://help.meisa.io/articles/add-a-product): Open the product menu at the top of the sidebar, click Add a product, give it a name and click Create product. Each product keeps its own contacts and sending. - [Your first hour in Meisa: the setup checklist](https://help.meisa.io/articles/first-hour-setup-checklist): Connect your email provider, verify your domain, add a sender, add contacts and send your first email. The dashboard's Get ready to send card tracks all five. ## Connect AWS SES and your domain Connect Amazon SES or another provider, verify your domain and add senders. - [Create an AWS IAM user and access keys for Meisa](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-aws-iam-user-for-ses): Create an IAM user with no console access, attach a small SES and SNS policy, then create an access key to paste into Meisa. - [Connect Amazon SES to Meisa](https://help.meisa.io/articles/connect-amazon-ses): Go to Email setup, click Connect a provider, choose Amazon SES, paste your access key ID and secret, pick your region and click Add provider. - [Which AWS SES region should I choose?](https://help.meisa.io/articles/choose-an-aws-ses-region): Pick one region Meisa supports, close to you or where your data must stay, and do everything in it: domain, production access and keys. - [Verify your sending domain (DKIM, SPF and DMARC)](https://help.meisa.io/articles/verify-your-sending-domain): Add your domain in Email setup, copy the 3 DKIM CNAMEs plus the SPF and DMARC TXT records to your DNS host, then click Check my records. - [Add Meisa's DNS records at Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap or Route 53](https://help.meisa.io/articles/add-dns-records-at-your-dns-host): Add the 3 DKIM CNAMEs, SPF and DMARC records where your domain's DNS is managed. On Cloudflare set CNAMEs to DNS only; elsewhere drop the domain from the name. - [Move AWS SES out of the sandbox (request production access)](https://help.meisa.io/articles/request-ses-production-access): New SES accounts can only email verified addresses. In the SES console click Request production access, describe who you email and how they opted in, and submit. - [Add a sender (From name and address)](https://help.meisa.io/articles/add-a-sender-address): In Email setup, open Add a sender address, enter a From name and a From email on your verified domain, optionally a Reply-to, and click Add sender. - [Set up open and click tracking](https://help.meisa.io/articles/set-up-open-and-click-tracking): Meisa tracks opens and clicks itself with no setup. Run Set up delivery tracking once so SES reports deliveries, bounces and complaints back to Meisa. - [Use SendGrid, Postmark, Resend, Mailgun or SMTP instead of SES](https://help.meisa.io/articles/connect-another-email-provider): In Email setup click Connect a provider, choose SendGrid, Postmark, Resend, Mailgun, Brevo, SparkPost, Mailjet or Custom SMTP, paste its API key and click Add provider. ## Contacts and audience Add and import contacts, use fields, tags and segments, handle unsubscribes. - [Add a contact](https://help.meisa.io/articles/add-a-contact): Go to Contacts, click Add contact, enter an email address and any name or tags, then click Add contact to save the person. - [Import contacts from a CSV file](https://help.meisa.io/articles/import-contacts-from-csv): In Contacts, click Import contacts, upload a CSV with column names in the first row, match the columns, review, then import up to 10,000 people at a time. - [Use custom fields and tags](https://help.meisa.io/articles/custom-fields-and-tags): Tags group people (like paid or webinar) so you can filter and email them together. Custom fields store extra details like plan or company for personalising. - [Create a segment to target the right people](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-a-segment): A segment is a saved group of contacts that updates itself from rules. Create one on the Contacts Segments tab, then pick it as a broadcast audience. - [Unsubscribes and suppressed addresses](https://help.meisa.io/articles/unsubscribes-and-suppressed-addresses): Meisa never emails contacts who unsubscribed, bounced or marked you as spam. Find them, learn what each status means and when you can re-subscribe someone. - [Read a contact's profile and activity](https://help.meisa.io/articles/contact-profile-and-activity): Open any contact to see their details, tags, email preferences, sequences and every email and event, and to email, unsubscribe or delete them. ## Broadcasts, templates and newsletters Write templates, send and schedule broadcasts, publish newsletters and read results. - [Send your first broadcast](https://help.meisa.io/articles/send-your-first-broadcast): A broadcast is a one-time email to many contacts. Choose who gets it, write it, pick when it goes, then click Review and send. - [Schedule a broadcast and use phased (warm) sending](https://help.meisa.io/articles/schedule-a-broadcast): Pick a day and time for a broadcast, and send it in waves so your most engaged contacts get it first and your sender reputation stays healthy. - [Build an email template](https://help.meisa.io/articles/build-an-email-template): Templates are reusable email designs for broadcasts, sequences and transactional emails. Start from a ready design or a blank email, edit visually, then save. - [Write and approve email variations (spintax)](https://help.meisa.io/articles/approve-email-variations): Variations give each recipient a slightly different version of your email. Add them in the template editor, then approve each one before a broadcast can send. - [Send a test email to yourself or your team](https://help.meisa.io/articles/send-a-test-email): Click Send a test in a broadcast or template to get the email in a real inbox first. Save test addresses once in Settings and reuse them in one click. - [Read your results: real opens vs raw opens, clicks and bounces](https://help.meisa.io/articles/read-broadcast-results): Open a sent broadcast to see opens, clicks, deliveries and unsubscribes. Turn on real opens to remove machine opens from scanners and Apple Mail privacy. - [Publish a newsletter with a public signup page](https://help.meisa.io/articles/publish-a-newsletter): Set up a newsletter for your product with its own sender, signup page and unsubscribe, then write issues like broadcasts. ## Sequences, automations and courses Build onboarding sequences, automation rules and email courses. - [Create an onboarding email sequence](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-an-email-sequence): Go to Sequences, click New sequence, pick a blueprint or start blank, add emails and waits, choose a sender, then click Turn on. - [Add delays, conditions and branches to a sequence](https://help.meisa.io/articles/sequence-delays-and-conditions): Add a Wait step to space emails out, and a Check a condition step to send people down a Yes or No path based on opens, clicks, tags or fields. - [Enroll contacts in a sequence](https://help.meisa.io/articles/enroll-contacts-in-a-sequence): Turn the sequence on, then add people with an automation, by hand from Contacts or a segment, or from your app through the API. - [Create an automation rule](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-an-automation-rule): Go to Automations, click New automation, choose what starts it under When, add optional conditions under Only if, pick actions under Then, and click Turn on. - [Create an email course](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-an-email-course): Go to Courses, click New course, write your lessons, pick a sender, put the signup form on your site, and turn the course on. ## Developers, API and transactional email API keys, transactional triggers, events and webhooks. - [Create and manage API keys](https://help.meisa.io/articles/create-an-api-key): Go to Settings, open API keys and webhooks, click Create API key, pick the permissions your app needs, and copy the key before you close the dialog. - [Send transactional emails with triggers](https://help.meisa.io/articles/send-transactional-email): Create a transactional email in Meisa with a key like user_signed_up, then send it from your app with one API call to /emails/trigger/. - [Send events and contacts from your app](https://help.meisa.io/articles/send-events-from-your-app): Keep Meisa in sync with two calls: upsert the contact when their details change, and track an event when they do something that matters. - [Get webhooks for email events](https://help.meisa.io/articles/set-up-webhooks): Add a webhook in Settings so Meisa posts to your app when an email bounces, a link is clicked, a contact changes and more, signed with HMAC-SHA256. - [API quickstart: your first API call](https://help.meisa.io/articles/api-quickstart): Create an API key, call /ping/ to check it, then add a contact and send a transactional email in three calls. ## Claude and integrations Use Meisa from Claude and connect it to your app. - [Connect Meisa to Claude (MCP connector)](https://help.meisa.io/articles/connect-meisa-to-claude): Add https://mcp.meisa.io/mcp as a custom connector in Claude, sign in with your Meisa email, and ask Claude to draft sequences, check results and more. - [What can I do with Meisa from Claude?](https://help.meisa.io/articles/what-you-can-do-with-meisa-in-claude): With the Meisa connector, Claude can manage contacts, templates, sequences, broadcasts, transactional emails, senders and products, and read your results. - [Sync new signups from your app to Meisa](https://help.meisa.io/articles/sync-signups-from-your-app): Call /contacts/upsert/ from your signup code so every new user lands in Meisa, then let an automation start your onboarding sequence. ## Account, team and billing Team members, your plan, invoices and cancellation. - [Invite team members](https://help.meisa.io/articles/invite-your-team): Go to Settings, then Team, click Invite someone, enter their email, pick Member or Admin and click Send invite. They join from the email. - [Manage your plan, card and invoices](https://help.meisa.io/articles/manage-your-plan-and-billing): Go to Settings, then Plan and billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period. - [Update your profile and sign-in email](https://help.meisa.io/articles/update-your-profile): Go to Settings, then Profile to change your name and photo, then click Save. To change the email you sign in with, contact Meisa support. ## Deliverability and troubleshooting Sending health, bounces, spam placement and why an email did not send. - [Understand your sending health score](https://help.meisa.io/articles/sending-health-score): Your sending health score starts at 100 and loses points for each setup or reputation problem. Every problem comes with a button that opens the fix. - [Why was my email not sent?](https://help.meisa.io/articles/why-was-my-email-not-sent): Meisa skips an email when your setup, account or the contact blocks it. Find the reason on the contact, broadcast report or API response, then apply the fix. - [How the frequency cap protects your contacts](https://help.meisa.io/articles/frequency-cap): The frequency cap limits how many marketing-style emails one person gets per hour and per day. New products start at 2 per hour and 4 per day. - [My emails are going to spam: what to check](https://help.meisa.io/articles/emails-going-to-spam): Check your domain has DKIM, SPF and DMARC, your sender uses that domain, and bounce and complaint rates are low. Then review your list and content. - [Handle bounces and spam complaints](https://help.meisa.io/articles/bounces-and-complaints): Meisa stops mailing hard bounces, dead mailboxes and people who report spam automatically. Your job is to keep delivery tracking on and watch your rates. - [My domain is still pending verification](https://help.meisa.io/articles/domain-verification-pending): A domain stays Waiting for DNS until your provider sees every record. Open View records, fix the rows that say Not found yet, then click Check my records. - [Why do my open rates look lower than in other tools?](https://help.meisa.io/articles/why-open-rates-look-low): Meisa shows a real open rate with machine opens removed. Security scanners and privacy proxies open email instantly, and other tools count those as people. ## Privacy, security and support How your data and keys are protected, compliance and how to reach us. - [How Meisa protects your data and AWS keys](https://help.meisa.io/articles/how-meisa-protects-your-data): Your provider keys are encrypted at rest and never shown in full again, API keys are stored only as a hash, and all traffic uses TLS. You own your data. - [Unsubscribe links, CAN-SPAM and GDPR](https://help.meisa.io/articles/unsubscribe-and-compliance): Meisa adds a one-click unsubscribe header and a visible unsubscribe link to every marketing email, and stops emailing anyone who unsubscribes. - [Contact Meisa support](https://help.meisa.io/articles/contact-meisa-support): Email hi@meisa.io or use the chat on help.meisa.io. Include your account email, the product, and what you expected versus what happened.
